With the addition a new world-class luxury district and a commitment to innovation, the evolution of Westfield’s Valley Fair is staged to create a new regional hub and influential global meeting place of 2.2 million sq ft.
JPRA’s design team has focused on creating a vision infused with modernism that begins with the exoskeleton-inspired indoor/outdoor event terrace. Open-air pedestrian promenades and relaxing outdoor lounges will feature clean lines and simple details – the ultimate in luxury. The expansion will also feature two new concourses, a state-of-the-art cinema, unique in-center activities, and leading edge, upscale retail selections. The new 2,000-space digital garage will provide the newest wayfinding technology, including both open space and vehicle finders.
Currently, construction is underway with a grand reopening scheduled in 2019. Structures between Macy’s Men’s and the Northwest Parking Deck have been removed to make way for the new two-story cinema, for which JPRA provided the shell. The cinema will have 12 theatres and include two IMAX theatres. The existing mall structure interface with the new mall addition is being prepared, and the mall is remaining open throughout the renovation and construction.
