The new residence hall at Lawrence Technological University (LTU), a 47,545-square-foot, twostory building, has a capacity to house 160 students and was completed for the fall 2015 freshman class to move in. The residence hall has five pods, each with 16 double-occupancy units. Each pod has its own common lounge with a gathering space, media center, and kitchenette space with light cooking appliances. Amenities include café/retail space on the first floor, central laundry on both floors, a multi-purpose room, a game room, and two conference-type spaces.
"The building is designed to encourage students to be out of their rooms with plenty of space for interaction and collaboration. One of the goals is to get new students involved in campus life by fostering collegiality on a regular basis," LTU President Virinder Moudgil said.
