Architectural Firm IT Manager
We are seeking an experienced, proactive IT Manager to oversee and advance our technological environment. In this role, the IT Manager will support the needs of our architectural firm, ensuring that our architectural/design software, hardware, network infrastructure, and security systems are reliable, efficient, and future-ready. The ideal candidate understands both traditional IT needs and the unique technology demands of architecture, including BIM, rendering systems, related software, and large-format printing.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot services, workstations, storage devices, and back-up systems; install system and program updates during non-business hours, if needed.

Manage and support industry-specific applications (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) and their associated licenses.

Provide technical assistance and training, when required, to architects, designers, and administrative staff.

Implement cybersecurity best practices; monitor and respond to security threats, manage firewalls, VPNs, and antivirus solutions.

Oversee relationships with external IT vendors, consultants, and service providers; procure new software, hardware, and services as needed.

Recommend and implement technology solutions to improve workflows, collaboration, and project delivery; stay up-to-date on technology trends in architecture and design.

Ensure regular data backups, disaster recovery planning, and compliance with data security protocols.

Manage cloud-based services and integrations (i.e., cloud collaboration platforms, remote access tools, project management software).

Track inventory of IT equipment and plan for upgrades and replacements.

Assist in preparing and managing the IT budget in alignment with the firm's needs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; OR equivalent experience.

5+ years of progressive IT experience; 2+ years in a leadership or management role.

Prior experience supporting an architectural, engineering, or creative design firm is strongly preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Strong understanding of AutoCAD/BIM workflows and related IT requirements.

Proficient with Windows operating systems, networking, storage solutions, and virtualization technologies.

Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and cloud collaboration platforms.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Experience with rendering farms, VR/AR systems, and high-end graphics workstations.
