JPRA Architects is serving as Executive Architect for Whitman Family Development’s expansion of their jewel of a shopping center in south Florida. The expansion will add 250,000 sq ft of additional retail space for major tenants, featuring the addition of a three-story promenade and grand entrance.
Touted as perhaps the most successful shopping center in America, Bal Harbour has been fully leased for decades, always with a waiting list. Built in 1965, and staying true to founder Stanley Whitman’s methodical research to cultivate the best shopping experience possible, Bal Harbor became the epicenter of high fashion when Gucci, Valentino, and Versace opened shops there.
